Is ACN A Scam That Will Rip You Off
Products: Phone Services, Internet Services, etc.
Will ACN Scam You?
To be sincere with you, so many products on the Internet today are created the purpose of depriving people of their hard-earned money. Being concerned about falling victim to such programs is entirely valid and natural.
However, you can’t easily deduce if a program is going to defraud you or not, unless you carry out full research on it. This would probably take you days before you can decide whether you should join such a program or not. With the advent of Internet reviews, and websites such as this one, it is easy for you to conclude whether a program like this will scam you or not because of the extensive data that you can lay your hands on.
Before I go on to try an answer this question, I want to sound a note of warning to you. Not all MLM programs are scams, but almost all of them will give you a hard time before you can earn a significant income with them. Therefore, if you are already thinking that ACN will scam you because it is an MLM company, then you are on the right train of thought. Nevertheless, before you conclude on that premise, please read the following paragraphs. By the time you are through, you will be able to tell whether it is legitimate or not. And by then, you will already have solid facts at your fingertips to help you make an informed decision.
ACN sells and resell the following products, which could be sold by the representatives that join the company – these representatives are essentially ordinary people like you and I. There are different levels that exist for their representatives, and each level will fetch different amounts with a unit sale of their product with varying commission rates.
- Phone Services
- Satellite TV
- Home Security and Automation
- Wireless Services
- Technical Support
ACN Compensation Plan
The compensation plan is divided into two plans, personal commission and residual commissions. As for the personal commission, each representative will be assigned customer points. In order to earn a customer point, you have to introduce new reps into the program. When you are able to earn 1-29 customer points, you get 1% commission when they sell a product. You get 3% when you have 30-39 customer points. You are entitled to 5% and 10% commission for 40-49 customer points and 50+ customer points respectively. Therefore, for you to increase your percentage, you have to introduce more reps into the system, and increase your customer points. Note that when you introduce up to 10 customers, you earn 20 customer points and so on. An example will make this clearer. Let’s say you introduce 20 reps, each rep will be billed $40. If you calculate it you have 20 customers x $40 x 5% = $40 per month in commission.
As for the residual commission, you earn the recurring amount from the acquisition of customers. The more customers you introduce, the more you can earn, subject to your current level.
Should You Join ACN?
Before you join a program, no matter how small, you have to consider the long-term effect on your business and, by extension, your life. For instance, I would not think twice about a program that will make my life more difficult before I can earn a cent. I will also avoid programs that require frequent querying by senior members. Therefore, you need to consider many things before joining this program.
Below is a summary of the complaints about ACN from Pissedconsumer.com. Notice the $180K in losses 🙁
The first is the number of controversy about the program and its line of operation. Majority of people have actually complained that this program is a glorified internet marketing campaign. Although, it is true that these are mainly opinions of people, it is actually these opinions that have saved many other people from falling victims to bogus programs. Take for instance; every program on the internet at a time will have some reviews written about it by those who have tried it in the past. The more the review about a program, the more awareness people can create about the program. If the reviews are good, the program will sell by word of mouth. And if they are bad, then people will run from such programs.
As far as I am concerned, I would not consider joining ACN because it has garnered so much negative reviews online that one would think about why it is still in existence. The truth is, if there are so many programs on the internet that will allow one to make money without any incidence of scamming, then there is no reason to stick with a program that is suspicious in the least.
Why I Prefer Affiliate Marketing Over MLM
There are so many reasons to prefer affiliate marketing to MLM. Although, affiliate marketing does have its own downsides, it is better in terms of scalability and maintenance.
Take for instance; if you are able to develop a successful affiliate marketing business, it is easy to scale it. This means that you can rinse and repeat the process that made you successful in the first place. In the case of MLM, you might find that hard to do. You have to report to those above you or worry about how your subordinates are making progress. Besides, there is no clear strategy to doing Multi-Level Marketing. The method that is successful today may be redundant tomorrow. At least, that is how I see MLM.
As for maintenance, you are the sole controller of your business empire when you operate affiliate marketing. You can do and undo changes without being questioned by anybody. You can decide to go on vacation and your business will run on autopilot. However, when you are involved with Multi-Level marketing, you have people above you that you will report to every time, whether you are making progress or slowing down.
