More on Amsoil
Products: Motor Oils, Lubricants, Greases etc.
With all the make money online opportunities that you get these days it is necessary to ask ourselves whether this golden opportunity is legit. With the majority of people falling for scams it does not surprise me that more than 80% of all online programs are indeed scams.
Can we say the same for Amsoil and will you make money from them? Even if Amsoil is legit, you still need to ask yourself if it is worth it to take part in their compensation plan (which I will talk about later) in order to make money. Now let us get on with Amsoil. This is an MLM company that promotes oils or car related lubricants. The company itself is legit, but I do have a small problem with their compensation plan and MLM in general.
If you are a grease monkey then this company might just be for you 🙂
Before I can continue to the compensation plan, we need to discuss the product because without the products, this company could be a pyramid scheme.
The products within the product ranges can be used for cars, motor cycles, snow mobiles boats and more.
- Motor oil
- Hydraulic oil
- Compressor oil
- Fuel additives
- Transmission fluid
- Gear lube
- Motor Clothing
- Garage accessories
More on Amsoil compensation plan
There are 2 main ways to make money with Amsoil
1) Direct sales (Amsoil Dealership)
This is by far the easiest one to do because if you make a sale, then you will earn a commission. There is also nothing complicated about this method except for the part where the more sales you make the higher will your commissions be. To use an example, you will start off with a 2% commission rate for 100 credits and raise it to 25% with 5000 credits.
Each product in the catalogue has a set value of credits. To be able open your own Amsoil Dealership you need to either buy the 6 month package which is $15 or the 1 year package which is $30.
Build your own Downline (Sponsor new Dealers)
This is the second way to make money with this company and it is also where the whole MLM idea is coming into play. The dowline structure of this company is luckily not that complicated as all the others that I have reviewed. This is a huge bonus for this company and it is also the reason why I gave it a score of 5/10.
Other companies will generally score less than 5 because of their complicated structure. The reason why I give a score for the compensation plan is because you have to promote that plan to other people that are interested in joining your group.
If you cannot explain the compensation plan in such a way that will enable your downline to understand it, then you will be wasting your time. Remember that they also have to explain the plan to other people if they want to grow their group.
The plan is very simple and is as follows:
For each person that you refer and the persons that they refer will enable you to build your own group. Once your group is big it will look like the branch of a tree. As your group grows bigger, you will add more branches to your tree. The payout system is also straight forward because the more credits your group earn, the more money you will make.
Let me give you an example. Let’s say you have referred 4 dealers and they have earned 300 credits, then your personal group will earn a total of 1200 credits which will result in a commission rate of 11%. Your dealers will then get a 5% commission rate from 300 credits.
As they refer more dealers to grow their tree, you on the other hand will make more money.
Should you join Amsoil?
I have a bit of mixed feeling about MLM on general and know from personal experience that you need to have the right mindset to succeed in this industry. It is not about you, but about your group and that is the problem. If your group does not perform, then you will not make money.
The company itself has a very cheap entry level to join and is not that expensive as other companies and one major bonus is that the comp plan is very straight forward. This will make their product much easier to sell and the products are also not that bad.
To get back to the question I would say that it really depends on you. If you are someone that knows a little bit about oils and grease and you have the marketing skills to develop your own network, then this might work for you. Maybe if you have your own garage, then you might make a ton of money. You also need to be willing to teach your group how to sell the products otherwise your business will not grow.
Alternative ways to earn a passive income
Fortunately there is other ways to earn a passive income and I am doing it right now. The model that I use is called Affiliate marketing and it works like this. First you need to partner with companies such as Amazon or Ebay which has an affiliate network or referral program.
After you join, they will give you an unique tracking link and if someone clicks on that link and buys something, then you will earn a commission. You do not need to own or buy any of the products that you want to promote
- Choose a niche. This is the first step and this will also give you the freedom to dig into any niche that you want to. There are hundreds of big niches and thousands of smaller niches to consider. There is also nothing wrong with turning your passion or hobby into a fulltime online business.
- Build a website. Many people think this is the hard part, but it is actually the easiest part. You can easily setup your website in under 5 minutes if you have the right resources. It is also not that expensive to build a website nowadays.
- Drive traffic yo your website. You will need to write articles on your website which will be the content that google looks for. Have you ever searched for a product review online and came across a website that told you more about the product?
- Make money. Here is where the fun starts. Once your website gets visitors, you will be able to sell products to these visitors. There are millions of products and hundreds of them are being launched on a daily basis.
