Introduction
This is one of the most common questions that I get when it comes to affiliate marketing. I was new to this business model about a year ago and it is not easy to get started. I have a couple of websites up that are already making me a passive income online. Now you might be guessing who the heck am I to tell you how to make money with Amazon?
Well I am not going to tell you, but I am going to show you. I guess that you are already tired of all those cheesy scam lines such as “learn how this homeless man became a billionaire overnight” so I am not even going to try and show you my income reports just to push your emotional buttons. Who would not believe me anyway and that is good as you cannot trust anyone these days especially on the internet.
When you ask the question: “how to sell Amazon products on my website” then I assume that you are still a beginner when it comes to affiliate marketing, so let me show you something that works and you can check it out yourself.
How I get traffic
Most of the traffic that I get comes from Google when someone types a phrase into the search bar. What you want to do is to get your article on the first page of google and the nearer it is to the top, the better. Below I will show you an example of one of my rankings. The name of one of my websites is InsomniaHacker.com
As you can see from the image above I am ranked on the 4th position for the keyword “Ecotones Sound Sleep Machine Model ASM1002“. So each time when someone searches for this keyword, then they will land on this particular article. This is also just from one article that I have written that is little over 500 words and I did not even build one backlink to it. Here is a link to my article if you want to check it out
How I get those easy to rank keywords?
The strategy that I follow is simple. Instead of battling for the biggest apple that grows on the highest branch of the tree, I will go for those smaller apples that are hanging on the lower branches which are called “low hanging fruit keywords”.
When I start a new website the majority of my articles will be product related keywords because they are so darn easy to rank for. One downside of these types of keywords is that they do not have a lot of volume, but remember that because they are product related, they will convert much easier than your general type keyword.
What I like to do is to use brute force in writing hundreds of these types of product reviews in order to get hundreds of first page rankings. My conversion rate will also be much better too because if someone is already searching for that specific product then it does not take a lot of work from me make them buy the product. They only need a little bit more information to convince them to continue with their sale. One very important thing is also the keyword tool that you should use.
My tools of the trade
Keyword tools are critical in finding these keywords because there are specific metrics that are extremely important. There is no tool in the world that is perfect, but where the one lacks, the other one will make up for it. The first tool I use is Jaaxy because it gives me the traffic value and the amount of competition for the keywords.
As you can see there is 135 searches per month for the keyword and the QSR (Quoted Search Results) is the amount of articles there is online for contains that specific keyword. The amount of searches will contribute to the amount of visitors that you will get and the more there are the better. I try not to aim for a QSR higher than 100 and the less competing pages there are, the better.
The QSR is the amount of competition that you need to outrank in order to be on the first page. Jaaxy is by far the only tool that I know of that gives you the amount of competition which is very important. The next step that I always take is to look at how strong my competition is on the first page of Google. The second tool that I use is Long Tail Pro which is also very important.
One important metric to know about is the Link Juice because this tells you how much influence the backlinks have on the articles. I do not look at the amount of backlinks because Google is smart at knowing which backlinks is real. Backlinks do not tell me anything, but Link Juice is another story. The more articles that have a link juice of “0”, the better chance I stand to rank.
I also like to look at the title in the URL because this is a clear indication on whether the website owner was targeting the keyword in order to rank for it. I can only see 3 articles that are targeting the specific keyword and the less there are the better.
Do you want to succeed with your website?
I cannot believe that I actually asked you this question because off course you want to succeed. I told you exactly how I am selling Amazon products on my website and also the tools that I use, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. If you do not have any experience with making money from a website then you need more than this article to really help you.
Just the fact that you are reading this article must tell you that I must be doing something right. I was also very new to this but most likely did not start at the same place as you because something about my experience is a bit different. I had access to an online community that helped me to succeed online.
