Is Lotto Magic a Scam?
In my opinion it is because it has the same flow as a pyramid scheme. People are smart these days when it comes to creating these types of scams. They will try to “disguise” the pyramid scheme so that it looks like an MLM. The difference between a pyramid scheme and an MLM is that a pyramid scheme does not have any products to promote.
Yeah, I do not think so.
I am not a huge fan of mlm, but there are mlm companies that are not that bad which might make you money. It is a very tight industry, but I know of people that are cashing big with them. Lotto Magic however is does not have any products to promote. All they say is that you will get tickets if you join and that they are keeping your tickets in their fireproof safe (This does not let me feel more secure at all ).
What is Lotto Magic Exactly?
It is a membership program that you can join in order to play the lotto. There are some gimmicks to this, but for you to understand it you need to know about all their membership programs.
There are 2 membership programs that you can join and they are the Player and Captain memberships:
Player Membership
With player membership you cannot refer other people into the system and the only income you will get is from the winnings. You will be put into a pool with 7 other members and you will earn 10% from the total winnings.
There is also 3 levels within the player membership:
- Team Player. It costs $25 per month and you will get 8 tickets in each Florida lotto drawing.
- Power Player. It costs $60 per month and you will get all the benefits of the Team Player level, but with 8 numbers extra in each of the Powerball drawings.
- Mega Player. This level will cost you $120 per month and you get the same benefits as the Team Player and the Power Player, but you will be able to play in Mega Millions and Mega Money too.
Captains Membership
This is where the whole scheme comes in and the main reason why so many people join this website. Here you will win 50% instead of only 10% of all winning proceeds. You will earn a large commission from your level 1 commissions and a very small commission from level 2 up to level 5.
They also have 3 levels:
- Team Captain. This membership level costs $50 per month and you will earn $25 for each Team or Power Captain you refer and you earn $2 for each Team or Power captain in your level 2 to 5. You can only participate in the Florida lotto drawings.
- Power Captain. This membership level will cost you $120 per month. For every power captain you enroll, you will earn $60 and $50 for each Team Captain. You will also get $4 for each power captain in levels 2 to 5. You can also participate in the Powerball draws.
- Mega Captain. This is the largest membership level and will cost you $240 per month. As an extra, for each Mega captain you refer, you will earn $120 per month and $8 for each mega captain from levels 2 to 5. You will also be able to play in the Mega Millions and Mega Money.
Why I do not recommend Lotto Magic
I already stated that I am not a big fan of these types of “business models” but let me explain to you why I do not recommend this program.
- Pyramid Scheme. First of all it is because there is no physical product involved which makes it a pyramid scheme. It is so easy nowadays to quickly nail a product together and call it an mlm. Most people do not join Lotto Magic for the lotto part but for the compensation plan and that makes it even less trustworthy.
- Unregulated. I also do not trust this company with my “lotto tickets”. There is also no proof that this website is regulated by a gambling authority.
- Too expensive. Another thing that is a con is that it is very expensive to start with. Paying $250 per month is just unreal and I do not see the value of that.
- Poor training. They do offer a package that will cost you around $9 per month, but I would not even take it for free. Even if Lotto Magic was legit, from where will you learn how to promote it?
Legitimate ways to make money online
There are countless scams and low quality products online and I can understand that most people are afraid to even consider making money from the internet. One of the best ways to make money online is to build a website around your passion and earn money from it.
There are hundreds of affiliate companies out there which you can join and then you will be able to promote their products for them and earn a commission. The bigger your website, the more money it will make and there is no limit to the size of it.
If you have built a website that earns you $3000 per month, you can repeat the whole process by building another website in another niche. There is no limit to the amount of money that you can make with affiliate marketing. Some people hit the $10 000 per month mark in just 2 years, while others take 3 years.

What is your experience with Lotto Magic?
I don’t think Lottomagic is a scam because it doesn’t necessarily have any products. I argue that they don’t need to have any products themselves because the product is already marketed via state Lottery agencies. On the other hand, what definitely makes lottomagic a scam is that Lottery pool club memberships are illegal in Florida. Also, Lottomagic recently changed business names!
Hi Apollo
Your opinion is very appreciated. An MLM company needs to have their own product to not be classified as a “pyramid scheme”. Everyone nowadays can create an mlm company just by selling products from other companies and this does not make them legit. An MLM company needs to have their own real product in order to be distinguished as an mlm and not a pyramid scheme.
You simply cannot piggy back on another company just so that you have a product to sell.
I cant pretend to understand how these people claim this system works even after visiting the website and watching the sales video. They say in the sales video that you can make hundreds of dollars even if you never win. How does that work? I actually like the thought of teaming up in a huge lottery syndicate, but the cost of this membership seems really expensive. Even after watching the sales video I don’t understand how it can be possible to make the money that they are claiming. I would never join this membership simply because of the cheap scammy look of the website. Its not the best I’ve ever seen.
Thanks for sharing this with us!
Just the name itself implies that you will make money “magically”. Yes you can make money with the lotto, but not like this. I do not even consider this to be an MLM because it looks more like a Pyramid Scheme. It is so easy nowadays to create your own “product” and call it an MLM.
We need more people like you informing us about scams like this one. The Internet has brought so many opportunities for hard working people but at the same time it has given the opportunity for scammers to take advantage of people who are not informed. Thank you for sharing this!
Hi Juan
Lotto Magic is a scam that I will not recommend to anyone.
I mean I understand people are on this rat race to make money but what’s the value in trying to rip off people for quick bucks. If you are in desperate need of money and really have to hustle then I understand but I wonder how many of these people are really truly in desperate need of money.
This is what really upsets me because most people that join these pyramid schemes cannot afford to lose their money on programs such as this one. If you are desperate for money then it is better NOT to search the internet for a solution.
Anything that says lottery is something I stay far away from, what a waste of money. I recent enormous power ball lottery was ridiculous too; you have a greater chance of being struck by lightening. Hence, trying to make some income with a lottery pool, to me, is like betting on lighting and hoping to not get struck dumb.
Haha I agree Sarah. Well you might just have a 0.0000000001% change of winning the powerball. I would not waste my money on lotto tickets because I would rather invest them into something more profitable where I have more control over.
Lottery tickets have been played around the world for many centuries as entertainment, balancing state deficits, public work programs, multiple source of income e.t.c. If you have possession of the lottery ticket you still keep 100% share of the winnings no matter where you are in the world, making these lottery tickets very versatile no matter where you are located.
Hi Viljoen,
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I was looking for a way to make some extra money and this was one of the options, I’m glad I came across your article. I don’t understand why people see the need to rip off people; I’m delighted that we ave people like you who take the time to expose scammers. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your comment. Luckily there are other ways to make money online as I would also avoid Lotto Magic. It is these types of products that make the internet a bad place to make money with.
There are two main problems with anyone wanting to solve the various issues of lotteries:
1: Solving the problem of losing Lottery tickets, and
2: Solving the problem of most Lottery players not having money or enough cash for consistent Lottery play
Now! The cash gifting benefits membership club (lottery pool) known as ‘lottomagic’ attempts to solve mainly #2 with their catchy 2-5 second elevator pitch of informing unsuspected victims in this Lottery scam that they could “GET PAID TO PLAY THE LOTTERY EVEN IF THEY NEVER WIN!” This slogan is used a lot in recruiting others who in return recruit others to repeat the same elevator pitch recruiting lie!
Hi Appollo
I do not have a problem with lottery tickets. My problem is that Lotto Magic is using lottery tickets because they are “trying” to put themselves into the MLM category.
THey are a pyramid scheme because they do not have their own product. I agree with your statement that their pitch is very misleading.
Great review!
I highly doubt they actually have a fireproof safe, and that doesn’t make me feel safe either.
Honestly, after reading your post, I think people would be better off going to the boat or casino. Sure, they could make money promoting this program, but they would be better off promoting products from Amazon or something credible.
I understand these comments, but I would like to hear from people who have joined. Now,there could be a
reason for this. If people were winning, and are happy with it, they might be reluctant to “share the wealth”much like someone who finds gold in the hills,Another could be that if they’re winning, they may be afraid that some Entity is going to make it illegal. I’m wondering, why don’t I see a lot of emails from people who tried it, were scammed, and are angry..
BREAKING NEWS 07/10/2017
“Court-approved agreement bars Wealthperx, formerly Lotto Magic, from Iowa, based on what Attorney General calls blatantly fraudulent conduct”. [Miller, Tom. “Income Scheme based on Playing Florida Lottery Barred from Marketing to Iowans”. Iowa Department of Justice, 2017]
Thanks for this warning Valie. Gambling by itself, while not a scam, is, in my opinion, a very bad habit to have. It’s fine for people who enjoy poker and such, but I have friends who have literally asked me for money because they have become obsessed with the casino, and have lost so much money. Anyways, a pyramid scheme promoting gambling is an absolute must avoid in my opinion.
