The lowdown on Opinion World
As most survey panels that I know of, this one is also for free. Under no circumstance should you pay a panel to join as there are some that request payment for only a list of panels.
This survey panel also works on a points system where you can exchange your points for gift cards or cash. I see that many survey panels are starting to move away from checks and that is a good thing.
Survey panels in general
You can skip this section and head over to the next one if you already know how these survey panels operate. There are a lot of companies that wants to improve their products and services but in order to do this, they need data.
This is where survey panels come into play, because they collect data from their members in exchange for points and money.
These survey panels will then ask you a couple of very simple questions to learn more about your demographics. The companies will then pay the survey panels and the survey panels will then pay you.
How will you make money inside Opinion World?
There are 2 main ways to make money with this panel and it is through surveys and sweepstakes.
1. Completing surveys
The surveys are very simple and will range from 10 to 30 minutes. It is very common to get paid more if the surveys are longer, but it is not always the case. You can also expect to get paid $0.5 per survey and it can increase if the surveys are longer.
2. Sweepstakes
Four times a year or each quarter there will be a draw where you can enter the prize draw for $10 000.
How you will get paid
There are 3 ways in order to get paid. The first one is through Amazon Gift cards, cash through PayPal and also through Webshop. Each 100 points will be equal to $1 and once you have 1000 points (which will be equal to $10) you will have the opportunity to cash out.
Pros
There were a couple of things that I liked and I would like to point some of them out to you.
1. Pay via PayPal
When I started with survey panels a couple of years ago, I had to go through the pain of getting my payments through check. It takes very long for the checks to reach my address and sometimes it will even get lost.
2. Very low payment threshold
I have seen survey panels that have a payout threshold of up to $50 which makes it very hard to get your money. I like the fact that you can withdraw your money once you reach the $10 mark.
Cons
1. You do not get many surveys
I am not the only one that noticed this as there where many other people that had the same problem. If you get 1 survey per week, then that is a miracle.
2. Negative user testimonies
It is always a good idea to have a look at what other people are saying about a survey panel as you can get a lot of information from it. Below are a couple of screenshots of some of the most common complaints that I could find:
Above is a screenshot of where someone complained about their account being terminated.
I look like Opinion World does not send that many surveys anymore. Some people get more surveys than other because of their profile, because an updated user profile makes it easy for the panel to know which surveys to send to which member.
Should you join Opinion World?
Opinion World is a legit surveys panel, but I really wonder if it is really worth it. You should always ask yourself how much money can you make with a specific survey panel and also if you will be able to get your money.
At first I thought that this was a very good panel, but the testimonials made me think twice as there are just too many negative experiences to this panel.
If you want to join this survey panel to “test” it’s earning potential then feel free to join as you might only waste your time.

Online Surveys vs Affiliate Marketing
I cannot remember how many survey panels I joined in my life. I still get emails from panels that I almost forgot even exist anymore.
My biggest problem with survey panels are that your income is limited to the quality and quantity of surveys that you will get or let me rather say that you have very little control over this.
This makes it very hard for you to scale your income to the level that you want because of this lack of control. This panel also does not have a referral program which makes it impossible to earn a passive income from it.
Luckily there are multiple ways to earn a scalable and also a passive income online through affiliate marketing. There is a long list of companies that are hungry for people to sell their products in return for a commission.
They are the owners of the products and will handle the customer service and shipping which makes it easy for you to focus on only making the sales.
If you have a hobby or passion then I can almost promise you that you can earn a significant income from it. All you need to do is to build a website around your passion and once you get visitors on it, you can recommend products to them.

The awesome part about having a website is that it acts like a sales machine that will be printing money for you on a regular basis. Your website(s) will be able to make money for you while you sleep at night as no active selling is involved.
What is your experience with Opinion World?
I got a termination message for trying to cash in points into my PayPal account. I earned those points and put in many hours to get them, and Opinion World obviously would have claimed payment from their clients for my participation. Their terms and conditions are too Draconian, and if a member makes a mistake when seeking a reward, their program should flag the error, and/or block progress and give a warning, so that the member can correct it. Immediate termination is cruel.
Twice I requested that the termination of my membership be lifted and my points remain in tact. I have not heard back from them yet.
I’ve been a membership for at least 3 years with very few issues, until a couple of weeks ago when I terminated a LONG survey promising 300 points. Just when the survey was about to reward my account, I got an error message and no points were rewarded. I tried to contact help desk via the form online but no one came back, and because I did not want to give up on my points I started to send a message every few hours… just to get attention.
I also send a couple of e-mails.
Guess what… today I tried to log in into my account and .. BAM! My membership has been magically terminated!!
So not only are they not bothered to come back to their members, but when you try to contact them they terminate your membership!
The most annoying part is that NO ONE is arsed to send you an e-mail to give you a reason why or to warn you.
I obviously contacted help desk once more asking for explanations, but what’s the odds they will just ignore my e-mail…?
scammers
Ruby
THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. I HAD 575 CREDITS AND WAS ABOUT TO REDEEM THEM
THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN OPINION WORLD MESSAGE CAME UP AND SAID I HAD BEEN TERMINATED;
SO I EMAIL THEM WITH DETAILS OF WHAT WENT WRONG AND MY NAME, EMAIL, AND THE DATE.I SENT IT THROUGH TO CUSTOMER SERVICE THEN THEY REPLYED SAYING THEY WILL GET BACK TO ME IN 3 DAYS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM SINCE. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME FILLING ALL THOSE SURVEYS IN. I THINK THEY ARE BIG FAT SCAMMERS
Yes it just happened to me..When I tried to redeem $20 voucher with 1000 points my account got terminated..I wonder whether this is the strategy used to not paying the member or they actually don’t have enough vouchers. Scam.
Today I decided to cash in 5,000 points through my Penpal a/c: exactly the same happened to me as said above – my account was terminated for no reason whatsoever. I contacted the helpdesk and now wonder if I will ever hear from them.
Don’t use Opinion World – as others have mentioned it is a scam to get your responses and then they terminate your account when you go to redeem your points. I spent over 8 hours answering surveys with honest, thoughtful responses. When I went to redeem my points for a $50 Warehouse voucher my account was terminated with no explanation other than a vague “you have violated the terms and conditions”. I read through the terms and conditions with a fine tooth comb and could not find a single term or condition that I had breached. It is pretty clear what is going on here – Opinion World wait until you try to redeem your rewards and then terminate your account instead to avoid having to pay you out. But – like another user above me has mentioned – they would have certainly already received payment from their clients for my survey responses and have almost certainly already passed most if not all of my responses on to their client. So basically what they are doing is accepting payment from a company for survey responses from the public, promising compensation to the public in exchange for the information they require, then terminating users accounts before compensation has been paid. At the very least this should be considered fraudulent behavior, and I think that this service should be considered a scam. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. PICK ANOTHER SURVEY COMPANY INSTEAD. THIS COMPANY WILL STEAL YOUR INFORMATION AND RIP YOU OFF. WARNING. WARNING.
