Will Shaklee Scam You
Before you can answer this question, you need to know something about the company. Equally important for you to know is how it operates, and we are going to get to that in a moment. It was created in the 1990s under the guidance of Dr Forrest Shaklee and his two sons. Shaklee is an MLM company that deals in nutrition, household and other health products and has a vast market for its products.
In addition, it has many representatives in different countries promoting its products. If you have never read any review like this before, then you might want to believe that this is a legitimate company since it operates in many countries. The truth is that most MLM businesses operates in many different countries, especially third world countries, but does that make them legit? The answer is an emphatic no.
It is similar to other MLM companies in terms of its structure and process of joining but it does not have a long list of levels or categories for which to put its representatives. Before you can join, you have to start at the lowest level and pay $19.95. However, the prospects of earning actually depend on your selling prowess.
If you have great sales skills, you might be able to go far with this product. In addition, for you to earn more, you can introduce new distributors into the program and earn money when they earn money or get a small percentage when they are billed. Nevertheless, it is easy to say all these things on paper. When it comes to the practical aspect of selling products for an MLM company or getting people to join, it is actually difficult. You will learn why this is so in the following paragraphs.
It is important for you to be aware of the kind of products that this company is selling. Most of their products are health and supplement products and they are divided into the four segments:
- Weight Loss
I have not mentioned some other products in this review; these can be found on the official website of Shaklee if you want to learn more about other products they have. Each representative of this company will actually earn some percentage when they sell any of these products. In addition, the percentage earned will depend on the level of the representative.
In my own opinion, it is better to try to sell products than try to introduce new people to the system. Even if you decide to join and recommend this program to people to join, then you need to be careful. Most people already know about this program either through a bitter experience or through a story from those who have left a previous MLM company.
The Shaklee Compensation Plan
When you join as a distributor, you will be billed $19.95 yearly. According to Shaklee, this fee is responsible for enabling their distributors to receive their membership kit, product guide and other training materials.
When you join this company, you are supposed to make money by recruiting new distributors as your down line or reselling Shaklee products yourself. At the onset, each beginner distributor will be entitled to 15% discount for any product sold based on the sales volume. The sales volume is actually calculated based on the size of your group — you and your down line. You will also have access to a 4% bonus that will be calculated against your personal volume of 250. If you are able to develop your personal volume to 10,000, you will get 34% instead of 4%.
Should You Join Shaklee?
As far as I am concerned, joining an MLM company means you want to devote time, energy, and money to the system. I have read reviews of people who spent hundreds of dollars to stay in the system but were not able to meet the requirements. What happens to these people? They don’t earn any money and at the end of the day and they are forced to back out of the system.
Therefore, before you join, you need to be aware that you need some experience as well as money to keep you in the system while you are trying to promote their products and recruit others. If you can do all these, then fine. However, if you feel you are lacking in any of these, I will advise you not to bother joining this program at all, as it might lead to buyer’s remorse at the end of the day.
Any better ways to earn a passive income?
Although I prefer affiliate marketing to MLM, I know there are certain things I need to do, without which I cannot be successful with affiliate marketing. In the following paragraph, follow me as I outline the important concepts behind affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is simply a process of promoting products from third party companies with a promise to earn a percentage commission on the item being promoted if it leads to a sale. In a sense, the affiliate marketer is helping these companies sell their products to those who need it — most of whom the company cannot access directly.
Affiliate marketing requires a website where the products will be promoted. At the time of this writing, the cost of setting up an affiliate website is not very much. Combined with hosting, training and all the tools you need, you can get away with $47 per month. Heck, you can even try it for free if you really want to.
After building a website, you need a product to promote. This is actually simple because you don’t have to search for companies selling this product directly. Most affiliate marketers use Amazon.com and Clickbank.com. These two websites have products from thousands of companies to choose. There is also a rating system and many customer reviews will allow you to select the best products for your audience.
