American Consumer Opinion review
It can often be very frustrating to join a company or buy a product and then to realize after a while that you were scammed. Luckily with American Consumer Opinion you do not need to pull out your credit card in order to join as you do not need to buy anything for it is free.
The moment you need to buy a membership from a survey website then you need to run for the hills. So is American Consumer Opinion a scam? No they are not because you will not “lose” any money.
The only thing that you will lose is your time and for me that is more precious than all the money in the world. So if you are not familiar with American Consumer Opinion then let me show you the ropes.
What is American Consumer Opinion?
This company can also be called a survey panel. If you are already familiar with a survey panel, then you can skip to the next section.
Survey panels are very useful for companies to know more about their market. These companies will then pay the survey panels in order to send out surveys to their members.
When you join, you will be asked to provide more information about yourself which will come in handy in determining which surveys are for you.
The data that the companies get will be very valuable for them in order to improve their products or services to be of more benefit to their customers. They will then pay the survey panels and the survey panels will pay you.
What you will be doing inside
There are 3 ways to earn money from this panel:
1. Online surveys
This is the most common way to make money within any survey panel. Your surveys will range from 5 minutes up to 40 minutes and the amount of points you get will also depend on the quality and duration of the survey.
2. Product testing
Before companies expose their products to the mass market, they need to know if people would be interested in buying it, before they invest millions of dollars buy opening their production lines.
They will send you a product to test and after a set period of time you will be asked to complete a questionnaire or fill out a form.
Your chance of getting a product to test is very slim, but they are worth the cost because you can get paid from $50 up to $200 and sometimes you can keep the products for free.
3. Test new advertising
You might get a couple of ads in a row and will be asked which one stood out the most. You will have to say which text, colour and pictures caught your interest.
4. Referral program
Once you join as a referral, then you will have the opportunity to earn $1 for each referral that you send to their website. To get $1 is very low and I know of survey panels that pays $5 per referral.
How their payout works
For each 100 points you will receive $1. You need to reach a minimum of 1000 points or $10 in order to cash out. You also have several options such as PayPal, Hyper Wallet and check from which you can get your payment.
What I liked
1. Low payout threshold
I like the fact that you only need $10 in order to request a payment. This will make it easier for you to get your money sooner.
2. They pay via PayPal
I am not a huge fan of getting checks because it takes too long for the check to reach your address and it can also get lost sometimes. PayPal is just so much more convenient.
3. They have product testing
Maybe you might never get the opportunity to test a product, but once you do get one, then you need to grab it with both hands.
What I did not like
1. Their payout takes forever
If you are as impatient as me, then this might be the deal breaker for you. Most of the complaints that I found regarding this company is that it takes from 2 to 3 months for you to get your money.
I know from experience that some survey panels like to pay you at the end of each month so this is a real bummer. Below are screenshots of some of the complaints that I could find from 3 different website:
This one comes from Survey Police
This one comes from good old BBB.
It looks like this is the most common problem that I found and I guess it was because of these complaints that BBB gave them a B rating.
Should you join American Consumer Panel?
From what I have seen this panel does not look that bad, but it is unfortunate to hear about the slow payments. I must be honest with you here as I have also participated in online surveys and also created a whole website around them.
My biggest problem with surveys is that you cannot scale your income. I have not seen a single person that has ever earned more than $1500 per month just by completing surveys.
That is just unheard off because your income is limited to the amount of surveys that you can complete per day. You will also need to go through the frustration off being disqualified for surveys after you have completed 75% of a survey.
You can also never earn a passive income from survey panels because you have to actively work to get money. Maybe you have the ability to build a website in order to get referrals then you might get some form of a passive income.
Other Survey Panels
Stop wasting your time earning pennies
Sorry for such a bold statement but it is the truth. If you really enjoy survey panels, then why not do this to get the time by? However if you are serious about making money online, then please do not waste your time with survey panels.
What if you could create something for yourself that will make money for you while you sleep? What if you could do something online today that will pay you off for years to come?
Affiliate marketing made this very possible for me and if you combine this with a website, then I can easily answer the questions that were stated above.
Companies such as Share a Sale, Amazon, Rakuten have affiliate programs that will allow you to sell them for a commission. You can sell their products for a commission without worrying about shipping and customer service.
If you can manage to build a website and then promote these products on your website, then we are talking gold.
